Last week I had an the amazing opportunity to spend a few hours with Siran Stacy. Siran is a former 2-nd team All American at Alabama. From there he played in the NFL with the Eagles for a couple of years and also spent time over seas in the NFL Europe league. Siran has spoken at numerous FCA events in recent years after a tragic car accident where and man committing suicide slammed his car into Siran's vehicle leaving his wife and four children dead. Only he and his youngest daughter survived.
Siran spoke last week to the football team at Lafayette High School and it was one of the more moving times I've experienced since on staff with FCA. After Siran's tragic loss, he was honored at this Alabama game with his daughter and awarded the game ball. I think it demonstrates well is spirit to "get up after getting knocked down"--the theme of his message that he shared with the players at Lafayette...
Gavin, I (Phillip Morrison) heard Siran speak last friday in chapel here at Asbury & it was powerful. Many people came to the altar with broken hearts & surrendering burdens to the Lord. It was holy ground & Siran even asked me to pray for him after the service. God was glorified.
